Department of Geography Established in 1965, the Department of Geography is one of the oldest and most prestigious departments of the institution. In 2025, it proudly celebrates 60 years of academic excellence. The department has consistently maintained high academic standards and is known for its dedicated faculty and student-centric approach. The department offers Undergraduate Degree Programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Geography. In addition, a range of short-term and value-added certificate courses are offered to enhance students’ skills and employability. With a total workload of 44 teaching periods per week, the department ensures comprehensive coverage of the curriculum. Our experienced and committed faculty members are deeply invested in quality teaching, providing individual attention and mentorship to students. The academic achievements of the faculty are noteworthy, with many having received recognition for their contributions. The Head of the Department, Principal Dr. Arun Bhagwan Patil, is a distinguished academician. He has received numerous awards from various institutions and has served as a Senate Member of Shivaji University, Kolhapur. 1.To ensure a basic platform of the fundamental knowledge of Geography.
2.To develop practical and Research approach among the student.
3.To generate opportunities for self-employment and to help of GIS with growing industry of India.
4.To help the students to acquire knowledge of their physical and social environment and thus to broaden their outlook.
