Department of History, established in 1965, offers UG and PG Programmes in History. PG Programmes Started from 1986. It is a well-known college in rural areas that provides facilities for teaching History. The curriculum for both programmes is framed by Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The syllabus is designed to help students understand the evolution of human civilization, socio-political movements, cultural heritage, and key historical events that have shaped the world. It nurtures historical thinking, analytical reasoning, and research aptitude among learners.
The department proudly celebrates its students’ achievements in University Examinations and selection for University Merit Scholarships.
The roadmap for the department’s future academic journey is grounded in four core elements: students, teaching, research, and society. Through this vision, the department aims to continue its legacy of excellence in historical education, scholarly inquiry, and contribution to informed citizenship and nation building.
